Crash Responders Week sponsored by WI-DOT (Towing + Recovery/Yellow)

Date

Expired!

Crash Responder Safety Week (CRSW) is a nationwide observation to spread awareness of the dangers emergency responders face every day while working in or around live traffic.

For its 10th anniversary, the CRSW theme is “Safety Starts with You – Move Over or Slow Down!”, which runs from Nov. 17-21, 2025.

Each evening this week, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation will light me up to honor a group of our first responders. They join emergency responders statewide in reminding motorists that everyone plays a role. Across this country in the last five years, we have lost 93 towing and recovery personnel in struck-by-vehicle incidents.

On December 20, 2024, Hussain Farhat, employed by Yaffo Towing, was struck and killed on I-94 in Waukesha County, while loading a disabled vehicle. Today, we are honoring tow operator Hussain Farhat and our Towing & Recovery first responders by Light the Hoan in yellow.
