Tonight, we are honoring our County and local Highway Departments/DOT first responders by Lighting-the-Hoan” in orange. Wisconsin has 115,751 miles of public roads, from Interstate freeways to county, city, and village roadways. These roadways are maintained by our county and local highway departments. For the most part, their work is conducted in challenging traffic and weather conditions.
