Light the Hoan is excited to introduce a new New Year’s Eve experience on the Hoan Bridge this year — featuring three countdowns throughout the night so more Milwaukee families can celebrate together.

On Wednesday, December 31, the Hoan Bridge will light up with three festive countdowns and sparkling light moments:

• 7:00 PM — Early countdown inspired by Sydney, Australia, perfect for families and younger kids

• 11:00 PM — Countdown synced with Times Square in New York City

• 12:00 AM (Midnight) — Milwaukee’s official New Year’s Eve countdown

Each moment will include:

• A 10-second countdown

• A celebratory lighting sequence across the Hoan Bridge

These multiple countdowns create more opportunities for the community to gather, watch, and ring in the New Year — whether early in the evening or right at midnight.

The Hoan Bridge has become a symbol of connection and celebration for Milwaukee, and this expanded New Year’s Eve programming is designed to be inclusive, family-friendly, and accessible to everyone across the region.
