Celebrating Another Year of Light: Our 2025 Impact Report

We are elated to share our 2025 Impact Report! Last year marked a significant milestone — illuminating both sides of the Daniel Hoan Memorial Bridge to fulfill our original goal. We continued to carry that momentum forward in new, exciting ways. We deepened our impact through partnerships and programs that brought people closer to our mission.

2025 marked the fifth Annual Intern Challenge, presented by We Energies, where creativity and civic pride came together in a way that reminded us how bright the future of this city is. Moments like syncing the bridge lights to The Lumineers on the last night of Summerfest created shared experiences that united our community in unforgettable ways.

We proudly featured 10 local nonprofits through our Shine a Lite sponsored by Miller Lite program, using the power of storytelling and illumination to raise awareness for organizations doing transformative work in our city.

Our presence on social media saw tremendous growth, helping us engage more deeply with our community and amplify the stories that matter. From spotlighting community organizations to celebrating local achievements, we continued to demonstrate what it means to light the way.

Behind the scenes, we continued to grow as an organization, moving into a new home in the Harbor District, with a stunning view of The Hoan. Through partnerships like UW Credit Union’s Hoan debit card, our mission continues to reach new people.

Each lighting tells a story, whether honoring milestones, amplifying causes, or celebrating what makes Milwaukee stronger. We invite you to read the full report and celebrate these achievements with us as we continue to shine together.

ABOUT LIGHT THE HOAN:

Light the Hoan is an official non-profit 501c3 organization, and was a community-driven initiative dedicated to illuminating Milwaukee’s Hoan Bridge. Every bulb represents a story, a tribute, or a celebration, bringing together individuals, businesses, and organizations to create a shared vision of light and connection. Bridge lights have been shining nightly since October 2020.
