Five local nonprofits will receive $10,000 and opportunity to illuminate the Hoan Bridge
MILWAUKEE– May 20, 2025 – As Miller Lite celebrates its 50th anniversary, Molson Coors Beverage Company is “Shining a Lite” on its Milwaukee hometown by offering local nonprofits the opportunity to apply for a $10,000 donation and the chance to illuminate the city’s iconic Hoan Bridge in their organization’s colors.
Light the Hoan’s five-year-old Shine a Lite program demonstrates the shared commitment
of both organizations to support and uplift the community by highlighting the invaluable work of local non-profit organizations.
“For 50 years, Miller Lite has been part of countless celebrations, and there’s no better way to honor that legacy than by giving back to the hometown that helped build it,” said Alison Hanrahan, community affairs manager, Molson Coors. “Through Shine a Lite, we’re proud to spotlight nonprofits that are building our legacy and shaping Milwaukee’s future.”
• Civic leadership: Programs must demonstrate the ability to enhance civic life and reflect enduring relevance to our headquarters, hometown or brewery communities. Priority will be given to initiatives that foster community engagement, strengthen local institutions or elevate the public good in a lasting way.
• Economic empowerment: Applicants must support economic mobility through efforts such as expanding access to higher education, fostering entrepreneurship, creating jobs or improving workforce readiness. Programs should equip individuals with tools for long-term financial and career success.
• Water and sustainability: Projects must focus on preserving water resources and promoting sustainability. This includes programs that improve water quality, increase access and availability or advance conservation practices critical to our business and the communities we serve.
Rooted in a 170-year brewing tradition and a long history of community investment in Milwaukee, Miller Lite is using this milestone year to continue giving back. This year, Shine a Lite donations will be awarded to nonprofits that align with Miller Lite’s core values:
